VPN proxies

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a technology that creates an encrypted connection between computers over a public network. This has obvious advantages when used as a proxy, as is often referred to as a VPN tunnel.

Once set up, a VPN is just like your normal internet connection, although with the benefit (depending on provider) of being able to select which IP and country you’d like to appear as to the internet. Though hassle free and highly anonymized, a lot of people get a VPN just to circumvent country filters, for instance to watch TV shows normally reserved for Americans only.
